We found this pub when booking our daugter's wedding at the local Parish church of Birstwith earlier this year. The owners, Tim and Pauline King apparentley took over the place early in 2007 and have completely refurbished the bedrooms. We took over the place for the whole weekend arriving on the Thursday night and leaving on Monday morning. We could not have come across a better place and would highly recommend anyone to stay where they will be guaranteed to be looked after with the highest possible personal care. The rooms have been refurbished to the highest standard and were exceptionally clean. The place is furnisheded with lovely collectables and is a Freehouse having Tetleys, Theakstone and Viking real ales all very well kept. The breakfasts are all fresh and purchased locally and done to order so served hot and fresh whether fried, poached or scrambled. The evening meals were the best I have had from any small Pub/Hotel especially their Tbone steak. Tim is an excellent photographer and took several photos of my daughter and me leaving the pub on Saturday. We returned in the early hours of Sunday morning to find in our room four photos framed - what a nice touch!!! An excellent wedding but made by Tim & Pauline, nothing was too much trouble for them and we shall certainly return.
